Our first public meetings were held in 1987 under the leadership of Petter Maden. The church first met in Thirroul Senior Citizens Hall, then at the Vista Theatre in Woonona. Before that time, there existed a small prayer group that met regularly and prayed for the church. Kevin Wilcock took over the leadership of the church, which was then known as Christian Worship Centre, and in 1990 the church moved to its present location in Thirroul.
Leadership of the church was handed to Joel & Julia A’Bell as Kevin began to plant more churches in Wollongong.
In 1999, Peter & Marie Starr became the senior pastors of the Thirroul congregation. The church became known as South Coast City Church Thirroul and over $200,000 was raised for a deposit for our current facility, which was then purchased.
We are now known as C3 Church Thirroul, having officially become a part of the C3 Church movement in 2011.
C3 Church Thirroul has raised and released ministers and missionaries who have left Wollongong and served to glorify God throughout the world. We continue to see people transformed by the power of God on regular basis. We value all people and believe in sharing the Gospel and making disciples of all nations (Matt. 28:19).
